San Sebastián – Gijón (6 Days 5 Nights)
FIRST DAY, SATURDAY
San Sebastián – Bilbao – Villasana de Mena
Meeting at 12:00 in San Sebastián. Welcome lunch in San Sebastian. After-lunch tour around this elegant city, beauty and color of the Casco Viejo (Old City), pure luxury of the major seaside promenade along the La Concha bay and many of the sightseeing attractions.
Transfer by coach to Bilbao where we board the Transcantabrico train.
Train trip to Villasana de Mena while aprreciating the welcome dinner.
Overnight in Villasana de Mena/Mercadillo.
SECOND DAY, SUNDAY
Villasana de Mena – Bilbao – Santander
Travel to Bilbao during the breakfast time.
Sightseeing city tour, including the visit to the renowned Guggenheim Museum of teh Modern Art (ticket included).
Just before lunch we board the train and head to Santander. Lunch on the train during the sceniс journey.
Panoramic visit of the most mondaine Spanish city and the elegant capital of Cantabria.
Free time (we will provide you with the list of easy-access attractions and must-do-s of Santander).
Visit to the Casino of Santander after the dinner upon your wish.
Overnight in Santander.
THIRD DAY, MONDAY
Santander – Potes – Cabezón de la Sal
Morning train trip to Unquera statio, located on the boarder of Cantabria and Asturias provinces.
From there we will travel by coach through the beautiful gorge of La Hermida to the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana and, then,to Potes, medievel town known for its bridges and towers.
Lunch and free afternoon before returning to the train.
Short trip on board the train to Cabezon de la Sal.
Dinner and overnight in Cabezón de la Sal.

FOURTH DAY, TUESDAY
Cabezón de la Sal – Santillana del Mar – Arriondas
The day begins with the visit of Altamira Neocave, the major site of Upper Palaeolithic cave art.
Following the visit to Altamira, we visit Santillana del Mar, the town preserving somehow its original medieval style through centuries.
Train trip to the fishing village of Ribadesella, in Asturias.
Free time in Ribadesella before we move on to Arriondas.
Dinner and overnight in Arriondas.
FIFTH DAY, WEDNESDAY
Arriondas – Oviedo – Candás
From Arriondas we will drive up to the Picos de Europa National Park to visit the ancient Christian Sanctuary of Covadonga.
On the way back to the train, we will stop at the Enol Lake and pass by Cangas de Onís, the first medieval capital of the Kingdom of Asturias.
Lovely trip to Oviedo, monumental and historic capital of the Principality of Asturias and the city of unique Pre-Romanesque monuments.
Free afternoon.Possibility for a guided tour around the city, visit to artesanal brewery, cidreria or vermut bodega. Local cheese and meat delices.
*Jewish heritage tour around Oviedoand the visit to the jewish community upon your interest and prior request.
Dinner on board the train and overnight in Candás.
SIXTH DAY, THURSDAY
Candás – Avilés – Gijón
Beautiful visit to Avilés, the ancient city with the plenty of historical and cultural heritage.
Then we go to Gijón, a city that is as open to the Cantabrian Sea as it is full of cultural events.
End of trip in Gijón after lunch.
